Glass Rubik’s Cube
Saturday, September 26th, 2009
While this isn’t a real product, yet, designer IceBone has created a rendering of what many are calling the best Rubik’s Cube ever. He said it took approximately 20 hours to render, using 3DStudio Max 6.0 and Mental Ray 3.2.6. Lets hope that some toy engineer somewhere can figure out how to make one in the real world.

3D Printers make it to 21st Century
Monday, November 24th, 2008
3D printing is a type of rapid prototyping where a three dimensional object is formed by layering and connecting successive cross sections of material. 3D printers are generally faster, more affordable and easier to use than other additive fabrication technologies. While this technology has been around for some time now, they have evolved into an amazing piece of technology.
MAKE Magazine has an article which features some amazing shapes that were printed, such as the one shown here. It is only a matter of time now, where we will just order a part or object online and print it at home.
